Biography

I am an aquatic ecologist and have been with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife for 17 years (as of 2022). I started with the agency working as a project leader for a long-term monitoring program focused on coastal aquatic habitats and coho salmon. Currently, my primary focus is to understand the resilience of our native fish species in the face of climate regime shifts. I develop species distribution models for native species, decision support tools, and conduct stream temperature monitoring. One of my primary focuses is understanding the variability in thermal tolerance across species. Along with other members of REDD, we also spend a lot of time finding ways to improve on spatial and temporal datasets to help improve the ability of the agency to make sound, scientific based management decisions.
