Biography

I have been fascinated with the hidden world below the water’s surface since my childhood adventures chasing bass, bluegills, and turtles through midwestern streams and sloughs. I became the REDD Program Manager in 2023 after starting with ODFW in 2013 as the monitoring coordinator in Fish Division's Conservation and Recovery Program. In that position, I worked to ensure that research, monitoring and evaluation was efficient and coordinated to facilitate the best strategies and actions to conserve native fish populations and support fisheries. Prior to my move to Oregon, I was the water quality program coordinator for the Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife, where I provided a voice for fish and wildlife in state water quality policy and natural resource damage assessment. I received my B.S. and M.S. degrees in Ecology from Iowa State University and a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. My research has included North American freshwater mussels and their commercial fisheries, environmental DNA, physical limnology, and freshwater biogeochemistry.
